As a broadcast news camera operator, I am often called upon to travel and shoot with very little notice. That’s why I keep my Sony FS7 kit ready to be deployed at a moments notice.

This job was wild. Stood in the post office I get the call from Al Jazeera International  – ‘Can you shoot an interview in the next few hours?’. Sure. ‘You have to find a location asap’. Right. I set up a shoot down at Orroco Peir and this section with Alan was slotted into the programme for the next day. The reason I was able to do this News shoot was that the kit bags were already packed, with the V-lock batteries charged and the cards formatted. The news programme was ‘The Listening Post‘ for Al Jazeera English.
