STUNNING IMAGING PERFORMANCE
An 8.3MP Super35mm CMOS sensor, designed and manufactured by Canon specifically for video capture, combines with DIGIC DV 4 and a new video processing system to deliver superb high-resolution images with high sensitivity, low noise, reduced rolling shutter artefacts and beautifully shallow depth-of-field.

ADVANCED AF SYSTEM
The EOS C100 Mark II features Dual Pixel CMOS Autofocus, which enables continuous AF with over 100 compatible EF lenses. This sensor-based, phase-detection autofocus (AF) technology is designed to provide smooth, high-performance continuous focus in movies. It is a unique, Canon-developed technology, ideal for fast and accurate autofocus, that helps filmmakers to create stunning footage which maximises the creative options offered by fast lenses and shallow depth-of-field.

HIGH SENSITIVITY, LOW NOISE
The EOS C100 Mark II offers high sensitivity recording with an impressive ISO range from 320 right up to ISO 102,400. These extended ISO capabilities allow users to record images more brightly with low noise in extreme low-light shooting environments.

DUAL FORMAT RECORDING AT UP TO 1080/60P
The EOS C100 Mark II allows users to record footage onto both memory cards, choosing between relay recording – where the recording card automatically switches to the other when full – or simultaneous recording where both cards record the same material, providing an automatic backup.

In addition, the camera further extends this capability by allowing Dual Format Recording. This feature allows operators to simultaneously record at up to 1080/60p, storing AVCHD files to one SD card while the second SD card records MP4 files. Operators can even capture AVCHD footage in HD whilst recording MP4 files in SD resolution for maximum workflow flexibility and quick turn-around.

The camera also features a selectable continuous recording option. This function continues to record regardless of the Start/Stop button setting and is available in AVCHD mode only.

EXTERNAL RECORDING POSSIBILITIES

For productions where image quality is absolutely paramount the EOS C100 Mark II is a compact powerhouse that offers clean, uncompressed HDMI output which can be used for high bit rate recording with compatible external devices. Timecode and 2:3 pull-down markers can be embedded in the output signal as required.

COMPREHENSIVE LENS COMPATIBILITY & BUILT-IN FILTERS
Expand your creative options with a huge range of interchangeable lenses. The EF mount on the EOS C100 Mark II is compatible with the full range of Canon EF lenses, including the acclaimed Canon 4K EF Cinema lens line-up. This wide-ranging lens compatibility provides a wealth of creative possibilities, with the EF lens range spanning focal lengths from 8mm to 800mm specialist options such as Macro, Tilt-Shift and Fisheye optics. Three built-in ND filters with manual control increase shooting versatility.

PROFESSIONAL AUDIO
The EOS C100 Mark II is equipped with multiple options for audio capture. Aside from the stereo microphone found on the detachable handle, the camera has two XLR input sockets on the top handle with a 3.5mm jack on the main camera body. A small monoaural microphone is also located on the front of the camera that is ideal for continuity recording, voice annotations and ambient sound capture.

To ensure that audio quality matches the high-quality images produced by the camera Linear PCM recording is available.

The compact, redesigned, lightweight body of the Canon EOS C100 Mark II Digital HD Camera has also evolved, and now includes a built-in microphone, START/STOP buttons clearly labeled in red, transparent covers on its twin SD card slots, improved battery insertion and removal, and an increased number of assignable buttons. Add to this its built-in ND filters, removable rotating pistol grip, removable top handle with twin XLR inputs, built-in stereo mic, and audio controls, and the Canon EOS C100 Mark II emerges as a powerfully evolved Super 35mm Digital HD camera designed to serve your quest for greater freedom of creative expression in HD video production.

The EOS C300 camera with Dual Pixel CMOS AF technology features a CMOS sensor that consists of an array of pixels that each feature two separate photodiodes. By continuously comparing their outputs during AF Mode, phase detection autofocus helps to ensure non-blurred images and smooth focus transitions even when the subjects and/or camera are moving. This feature places a high priority on maintaining sharp focus while, providing a natural, smooth autofocus movement with selected Canon EF lenses that offer even smoother and quieter operation.

Also available on the EOS C100 Mark II is Face Detection AF*, which is offered in two modes: Face Priority AF and Face Only AF. To allow for maximum coverage of the image that can use this facility when Face AF modes are activated, Dual Pixel CMOS Autofocus is switched off and instead the camera uses Contrast AF to achieve sharp focus.
* Face Detection AF available with Canon EF-S STM lenses.

CANON LOG & WIDE DR GAMMA

For the widest possible latitude in footage, and where total control is necessary, Canon Log Gamma provides 12 stops of latitude (800% dynamic range) for maximum flexibility in post-production. It enables detailed adjustment for highlight and shadow and broadens the range of colour grading.

The EOS C100 Mark II features an additional Wide Dynamic Range (Wide DR) Gamma feature that produces smooth changes in brightness, seamless gradations, and reproduces clear skin tones with uniform colours; thus delivering footage that can be used without colour grading.

DIGIC DV4 PROCESSOR
New to the Cinema EOS range of Digital Cinema Cameras is the DIGIC DV4 processor, which provides enhanced image reproduction, supplementing the strengths of the DIGIC DV family – such as smooth gradation and faithful colour reproduction – with support for recording at higher data rates. The sensor and processor work together with the same 2K RGB processing system as found on the larger EOS C500 Digital Cinema Camera. This ensures reduction in both moiré and aliasing, resulting in cleaner, sharper images.

DUAL PIXEL CMOS AF
Dual Pixel CMOS AF technology is a groundbreaking innovation from Canon. The sensor in the EOS C100 Mark II is composed of two separate photodiodes for each pixel in order to achieve high-speed readout. With full rein given to these characteristics the sensor is capable of detecting two image signals from each pixel. The pioneering Dual Pixel CMOS AF function offers fast, smooth and accurate focusing when used with a huge range of EF lenses.

SUPER35MM CMOS SENSOR
Canon develops and manufactures its own sensors and has incorporated an 8.3MP Super35mm CMOS sensor in the EOS C100 Mark II. This sensor has a pixel size that is larger than that for conventional professional camcorders, enabling greater light-gathering capabilities for enhanced sensitivity and reduced noise. The camera uses a system developed for Canon’s flagship EOS C500 Digital Cinema Camera, which processes the native 8.3MP readout to produce the very best HD image quality.

Supported by a heightened signal read-out speed, the CMOS sensor reduces rolling shutter skews, a phenomenon prevalent with CMOS sensors in which fast-moving subjects may appear diagonally distorted.
